Your Game Gear deserves better than flickering screens and crackling audio — let's fix that.

Over time, the original capacitors in your Sega Game Gear age, dry out, and start causing all kinds of headaches. If your handheld is acting up — think wobbly display output, distorted or missing sound, random shutdowns, or just generally unreliable behavior — chances are the capacitors are to blame. The good news? It's completely fixable, and we've got you covered.

What's included in this service?

You send us your Game Gear, and we take care of the rest. Our technicians will replace all the aging capacitors with fresh, high-quality parts. Everything you need is already included in the price — no need to source components yourself or worry about compatibility. Just a clean, professional recap that gets your system running the way it should.

Why recapping matters

A faulty capacitor doesn't just cause annoying symptoms — it can actively damage other components on your board over time. Electrolytic capacitors can leak, and that corrosive residue wreaks havoc on PCB traces and nearby chips. Getting your Game Gear recapped isn't just about fixing today's issues; it's about protecting your console for decades to come.

Combine it with the McWill LCD Mod

Want to go all the way? This recap service pairs perfectly with the McWill LCD Mod, which replaces the original screen with a crisp, modern LCD panel. Combine both services and you'll end up with a Game Gear that looks and performs better than it ever did back in the day. Just let us know when you get in touch and we'll sort everything out together.
