Flashkit - A simple tool to flash DragonDrive carts using Krikzz Flashkit.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
--- Windows Version ---

This tool has been designed to be used with the DragonDrive flashcarts.
If you want to use Krikzz Flashcarts, please download his own flasher tool.

At the moment, it supports the DragonDrive carts (MegaDrive), the DragonSNES carts (SNES) and the DragonLynx carts (Atari Lynx).
To read or write to them, you need to use the proper command line parameters.

How to use
----------

This program does not have a GUI and needs to be used from the command line.

If you simply run it, it will show all parameters which should be self-explanatory:

-d <ttydevice> (default /dev/ttyS2, which would be COM-Port 3)
-r <file> [size] dump the cart (default 4MB)
-w <file> [size] flash the cart (file size)
-e <size> erase (rounds to block size)
-a <start_address> cart start address (default 0)
-m <n> use an address mapper n, one of:
		    1: 8bit (Default value)
		    2: 8bit+LoROM
		    3: 8bit+LoROM+Adapter
		    4: 8bit+LoROM+Adapter+sram
		    5: 8bit+adapter (use '-a 0x400000' for HiROM)
		    6: 8bit+adapter+nocart
-v verify written data
-i get info about the flash chip

The first thing you need to find out is which COM-Port Windows has given the connected flashkit.
You can check this in the Device Manager.

The device that needs to be used translates like this:
COM1: /dev/ttyS0
COM2: /dev/ttyS1
COM3: /dev/ttyS2 (this is the default value)
COM4: /dev/ttyS3
... and so on, I think you get how it works :)

To flash a ROM onto a DragonDrive (MegaDrive) cart, all you need to do is enter:

flashkit.exe -d /dev/ttySX -w YOUR-ROM.bin
or
flashkit.exe -d /dev/ttySX -v -w YOUR-ROM.bin

The -v flag tests that the ROM has been properly flashed onto the cart.
Replace the X with the value according to the COM-Port.
If the COM-Port used is 3, then you can omit the -d parameter.

Depending on which cart you want to flash, you need to change the -m parameter as well.
If you don't use the -m parameter, it uses a standard 8bit flashing routine. This works with MegaDrive and Atari Lynx files.
If you plan to flash an SNES cart, you need to change the value for m.

-m 3: That's if you want to flash our SNES LoROM Cart.
-m 4: That's if you want to flash our SNES LoROM with SRAM Cart.
-m 5: That's what you use to flash our SNES HiROM cart (needs to be used with -a 0x400000)

Here are some examples with the full command lines:
---------------------------------------------------

To flash an SNES LoROM cart, when the kit is connected to COM3:
flashkit.exe -m 3 -w YOUR-LOROM.sfc

To flash an SNES HiROM cart, when the kit is connected to COM4:
flashkit.exe -d /dev/ttyS3 -a 0x400000 -m 5 YOUR-HIROM.sfc

To flash an SNES LoROM cart with SRAM, when the kit is connected to COM3:
flashkit.exe -m 3 -w YOUR-SRAM-LOROM.sfc

To flash a MegaDrive Cart, when the kit is connected to COM2:
flashkit.exe -d /dev/ttyS1 -w YOUR-MD-ROM.bin

That's it :)

Note: If you receive the message "unexpected CFI response: ffff ffff ffff", then the flashcart is wrongly inserted into the flasher or you're not using the correct -m parameter.
