For those who already know the GPD MicroPC:
With its new processor, the MicroPC2 offers almost three times the performance and has twice as much RAM as its predecessor.
It is also slightly larger with its 7" screen, which can also be completely rotated and folded down (as with the GPD Pocket 4). The resolution has been increased from 720p to 1080p.
In addition to other technical upgrades, everything else has remained the same: It is robust, has a network port and of course runs Linux without any problems.
For those not yet familiar with the GPD MicroPC:
The GPD MicroPC2 is a portable mini PC with a 7" display, which you can easily put in your pocket.
Unlike the GPD Win Mini, which is a similar size, the MicroPC is not intended for gaming, but for professional work use.
This can be seen from the lack of game controllers - but the performance is also significantly lower. However, the battery lasts longer and the device doesn't get as warm. And the performance is still more than sufficient for professional use. And you can definitely tell by the price.
As the MicroPC2 is a fully-fledged PC, unlike many mobile devices, you can easily install different operating systems such as Linux or Windows (Windows 11 Home is already pre-installed) or upgrade the hard drive (a normal 2230 NVMe is used here).
The screen can be rotated and folded down, transforming the device into a kind of tablet.
The casing is extremely robust and also suitable for rough working conditions.
