Psycho Dream is a 1992 Super Famicom action-platformer – now receiving its first-ever official physical release for SNES outside Japan as a Collector's Edition. Pre-orders end May 24, 2026 – one-time production run only!
A forgotten Super Famicom gem – finally coming to western SNES consoles.
In 1992, Riot – a label of Telenet Japan – released Psycho Dream exclusively for the Japanese market. A North American release under the title Dream Probe was planned but cancelled shortly before completion, and a European release was never even on the cards. For over 30 years, this dark action game remained out of reach for western SNES players.
Retro-Bit Publishing is changing that: this official Collector's Edition marks the first-ever physical release of Psycho Dream for NTSC and PAL SNES consoles – newly translated, fully localised, and presented with care.
The story
In a world where so-called "D-Movies" serve as digital dream worlds used to escape reality, some people become too enthralled to leave – known as "sinkers". Their physical body deteriorates in the real world while their consciousness remains trapped in the dream. Agents Ryō Shijima and Maria Tobari of the "Diamond Dogs" are tasked with entering the corrupted nightmare to rescue young Yūki Sayaka – before it's too late.

The Collector's Edition
This release features a brand-new English localisation by Nathan Deren. The included manual has been fully translated and contains the original artwork by manga artist Nishizaki Marino – the game's story, which in the original was told almost entirely through the manual, is now fully accessible to western players for the first time.
