Compatibility Information (PU-8 Version)
This xStation kit is specifically designed for PlayStation consoles with the PU-8 motherboard. It works with most SCPH-1001, SCPH-1002, SCPH-3000, and SCPH-3500 models, plus ALL SCPH-5000 series consoles. However, some early PU-8 boards aren't compatible - you'll need to check the board number when you open your console. If the board shows X-XXX-XXX-11, that's an early incompatible version. Installation Requirements
Installing the xStation requires intermediate to advanced soldering skills - this isn't a plug-and-play modification. You'll need to carefully remove the old CD drive assembly and solder the xStation in its place. If you're not confident in your soldering abilities, we strongly recommend having a professional install it for you. We offer installation services - just send us your console and we'll handle everything. Select the installation service option when ordering if you'd like us to take care of it.
