About the Anbernic RG-xx-Series
The RG-xx-Series from Anbernic all uses similar hardware.
They all are based around the ARM Cortex A53 Quad-Core CPU H700 and fast enough to play any classic system up to PlayStation 1 or even Dreamcast, as well as some PSP games.
The difference between the devices is the form factor, the screen size and some features like an HDMI Port or analog sticks.
So choose your favourite design - because the emulation capabilities are the same on all units.
The device also has a second SD card slot in which you can copy additional ROMs.
You can also quickly connect the device to the TV via the mini-HDMI port if the screen is too small.
What's different when buying the handheld from us
- You can either receive the device with the original cheap no-name brand 32GB SD Card - or get the OS preinstalled on an SD Card of your choice (you will still receive the 32GB SD Card as backup)
- We include the official carry case, which usually also does cost 10 EUR.
- For legal reasons, we cannot include the full games library. Our SD-Cards are fully setup and we include a few freely available games. All you need to do is copy your ROMs onto the SD Card and you're good to go.
Choose your preferred OS
Usually, the Anbernic handhelds all have the same OS preinstalled (the Stock OS).
However, there are firmwares out there, that are better than the official one, supporting more emulators or running more smooothly.
While we can't preinstall them for you (the developers would not like that), installation is pretty easy - and we can only suggest you use one of these, as they really improve the device.
Don't forget to support the devs, if you like them.
Here's the difference about the OS you can choose from:
StockOS:
That's the standard OS that's coming from Anbernic. Overall, it's easy to use and supports most of the classic systems.
It's mostly focussed on consoles though and doesn't include emulators for systems like the C64, for example.
Knulli (Batocera):
This is the most featured OS for the handheld. Based on Batocera, it supports most of the systems out there as well as ports like Cave Story or Doom.
It also offers more settings to the user, so you can set it up to your likings.
You can find more info about Knulli (or download it yourself) on the official website: https://knulli.org/
MuOS:
MuOS is a pretty minimalistic OS for the Anbernic.
It is pretty easy to setup and use and is mostly for users who just want to put their ROMs on and play.
It supports theming, so you can make it look nicely as well.
You can find more info about MuOS (or download it yourself) on the offical webseite: https://muos.dev
