SVS IR Remote – Switch Inputs Without Leaving the Couch
You've built your Scalable Video Switch, wired up 8 consoles, and now you just want to game in peace? The SVS IR Remote is exactly what your setup was missing. No getting up, no fiddling with the unit – just punch in the input number or scroll with the arrow keys and you're good to go.
What Can the Remote Do?
The remote communicates via infrared with your SVS Control Module. With it, you can:
- Select any input directly by keying in its number (e.g. input 12 for your SNES, straight away)
- Use the arrow buttons to cycle through inputs step by step
- Manually control your switch without ever touching it physically
When Do You Need the Remote – and When Don't You?
Let's be honest: if you're fully committed to RetroTINK 4K integration, you often won't need the remote at all – the SVS detects sync signals automatically and switches inputs the moment you power on a console. The same goes for serial control via USB or the IR blaster function for scalers like the RetroTINK 5x, OSSC, and OSSC Pro. But as soon as you want to switch manually – whether multiple consoles are running simultaneously or you just want to jump to a specific input quickly – the remote is absolutely worth having.
Part of the SVS Ecosystem
The IR remote is an optional accessory and not a required component of your SVS build. You'll need at least a Control Module, one Input Module, and one Output Module for a functioning switch. The Control Module already includes a built-in IR receiver designed for this remote – plus a button directly on the unit in case the remote isn't within reach.
What's in the Box
- 1x SVS IR Remote
Note: The remote is compatible exclusively with the Scalable Video Switch Control Module. An existing SVS build (Control Module + at least one Input and one Output Module) is required.
