The Right Cable for Your RetroGEM PixelFX

You've modded your Nintendo 64, GameCube, Wii, PS1, PS2 or Dreamcast with the RetroGEM PixelFX – nice. Now you need the right cable to go with it. Many RetroGEM installations use a Mini-HDMI output (Type C), and that's exactly what this Reekin cable is built for.

What's Inside?

The Reekin HDMI cable connects the Mini-HDMI port of your modded console to the standard HDMI input on your TV or monitor. The Ultra Slim design isn't just marketing fluff: the cable is noticeably thinner than standard HDMI cables, which genuinely matters in the tight confines of a retro console shell. 1 metre length is comfortable for most setups – you don't want a snake coiled behind the TV anyway.

Specs at a Glance

Who Is This Cable For?

  • RetroGEM PixelFX (N64, GameCube, Wii, PS1, PS2, Dreamcast) with Mini-HDMI output
  • Any other device with a Mini-HDMI port (Type C): cameras, tablets, laptops
  • Anyone who needs a short, tidy cable without cable clutter

Honestly: What's Good, What's Not?

Good: Slim design sits flush at the console shell, 1 m is ideal for retro setups, High Speed standard carries the full RetroGEM output signal up to 4K, Ethernet channel included (even if you'll probably never need it).
Weak spot: 1 metre can feel short for larger rooms or wall-mounted displays – go for a longer cable in those cases. Ultra-slim cables are also a bit more sensitive to repeated sharp bending, so don't yank it out every day.
