Gun shooters were once an incredibly popular genre. But with the technological shift from those old CRTs to modern TVs, they have pretty much disappeared.
Tassei Denki developed a gaming setup that conveniently brings that cool accessory back to today’s televisions and living rooms.

Also included is a pedal (so you can play it like the original Time Crisis Arcade machine).

How it works 

G‘AIM’E utilises a high-resolution camera and AI; in place of the infrared used in traditional Lightguns of the past. This automatically detects and adjusts to any display from 15” to over 150”! This ensures smooth, accurate gameplay from various angles and distances.

The AI is trained on vast datasets to grasp key features - such as geometric shape, edge profiles, and pixel patterns. This training allows the AI to develop a deep, conceptual understanding of what defines a screen.

When a new image is captured, the AI uses this learned knowledge to analyse it, identifying regions that exhibit screen-like features. It can then accurately determine the screen’s boundaries and vertices within the image.
