The OSA 2-Button Stick (OpenSource Arcade Stick) is the result of an ambitious project by Frank Niggemann: the development of a joystick that truly works well, is robust, and remains accessible to everyone. The concept is a success – all blueprints and data are freely available, allowing anyone to build their own stick or easily reprint defective parts.
Especially impressive: At Gamescom 2025, the OSA sticks underwent a real stress test. They were used intensively for an entire week at various gaming stations in the retro area – and withstood it all without a hitch. Visitors and exhibitors alike were impressed by the quality and precision.
Professional Technology Meets Intelligent Design
What makes the OSA stick special is the use of original arcade components combined with a unique, custom-developed mechanism. This guarantees precise, direct control and a pleasant gaming experience. The robust, 3D-printed housing fits comfortably in the hand and is available in various colors: cherry red, mint green, sky blue, and lemon yellow.
The joystick is optimized for the C64 and Amiga, but also works with various Atari systems and Master System. On the C64, both buttons are assigned to the first button, while the Amiga and Master System have two separate buttons.
Official and Fair
Important to know: These joysticks come directly from Frank Niggemann, the creator of the OSA project. This is an official product, not a counterfeit. Your purchase directly supports the further development of the project. A Kickstarter campaign is even planned for the future to produce the joysticks using injection molding – buyers will later have the option to upgrade their housing.
You receive a fully assembled joystick, plug and play – simply connect and start playing. And should anything break, thanks to the open-source nature of the project, you can reorder all parts or even 3D print them yourself. Throwing it away is a perfect fit!
