ModRetro M64 Pro Controller – the classic N64 controller, evolved
The ModRetro M64 Pro Controller is the modern evolution of one of the most recognizable controller designs in gaming history. It preserves the classic trident layout of the original Nintendo 64® controller while introducing premium materials, modern wireless technology, and precision components.
Designed for the ModRetro M64 and compatible with original Nintendo 64®, PC, and Android devices, the controller combines a premium aluminum construction with a driftless, replaceable TMR thumbstick and ultra low-latency Bluetooth SCI® connectivity.
Classic Trident Design with Aluminum Construction
The familiar three-pronged shape of the original controller remains intact. A rigid aluminum rear section provides a cool-touch, premium feel, while the semi-transparent front retains the distinctive appearance associated with classic N64 hardware.
Driftless, Replaceable TMR Thumbstick
The TMR thumbstick uses contactless sensing technology, avoiding the mechanical wear that can eventually cause conventional analog sticks to drift.
A snap-in mount with pogo-pin contacts allows the complete thumbstick assembly to be replaced easily. This also makes it possible to customize the stiffness or color of the stick without complicated disassembly or soldering.
Ultra Low-Latency Bluetooth SCI®
The M64 console and M64 Pro Controller feature a newly developed wireless module supporting Bluetooth SCI®. SCI stands for “Shorter Connection Intervals” and reduces the intervals between wireless data transmissions.
When used with the M64, this provides wireless control with virtually imperceptible input latency. It also makes it possible to enjoy four-player N64 games using multiple wireless controllers.
After the initial pairing process, the controller automatically reconnects wirelessly to the M64.
Three Ways to Play
The M64 Pro Controller gives you several power options, with everything required included in the box:
- Rechargeable battery pack – for convenient wireless play
- AA battery pack – for use with standard AA batteries
- Wired connection – for direct use with M64 or original Nintendo 64® hardware
Built-in Controller Pak and Classic Rumble
A Controller Pak is built directly into the controller, providing compatible save functionality without requiring a separate Controller Pak accessory.
The controller also includes a classic-style ERM rumble motor for authentic vibration feedback.
Please note: ControllerPak functionality is not yet implemented in the firmware and will be added with one of the next updates.
