The original Game Gear amplifier was never impressive – muffled sound, low volume, barely any bass or treble. The CleanAmp Duo by RetroSix changes all that. As a highly efficient Class D amplifier, fully designed in-house, it unlocks audio from your Game Gear you've never heard before: deep bass, crisp highs, and every coin collect in Sonic hitting just right – the way it was always meant to sound.

Stereo, Mono or Dual-Mono – your choice

That's what makes the Duo special: you're not locked into one configuration. Connect just a single speaker for classic mono. Connect both speakers without bridging the STEREO pad and you get dual mono – identical audio from both sides. Or bridge the STEREO pad to run the amp in true stereo mode with separate left and right channels. Maximum flexibility for your mod build.

Installation: almost entirely wire-free

No messy wiring, no hours of rework. You unscrew the old amplifier from the shell and drop the CleanAmp Duo in its place – done. Some basic soldering is recommended to unlock full volume and, on some Game Gear revisions, to bridge a 5V wire if audio cuts out at high volume. Enabling stereo mode also requires bridging the STEREO solder pad. Beginners with basic soldering skills will manage just fine.

Compatibility & Recommendations
