Earth is under attack by androids from outer space. Zion and Eerie find themselves right in the middle of the invasion – and Zion has no choice but to use his martial arts skills to fight back. Armed with cosmic armor stripped from one of the invaders, he sets out to rescue Eerie and the rest of humanity. Sound familiar? It should – this feels exactly like a real GBC hit from the 90s.

Gameplay

Cosmo Knight Zion is a classic action platformer drawing inspiration from titles like Ninja Gaiden, Shinobi, and Altered Beast. You jump, punch, collect items, and grab power-ups across five challenging levels with powerful bosses. Secret bosses reward curious players, hidden elements boost replayability, and the armor system – Zion can pick up and lose cosmic armor – adds a tactical edge. The difficulty is deliberately old-school: challenging but fair.

Presentation & Tech

The story is told through detailed pixel art vignettes. The retro soundtrack and authentic GBC graphics transport you straight back to the golden age of handheld gaming. The game runs on Game Boy Color, Game Boy Advance, and the Analogue Pocket.

About the Developers

Cosmo Knight Zion was developed by ZeichiGames and brought to life as a physical product through a successful Kickstarter campaign. Piko Interactive handles distribution. It's a genuine homebrew passion project – with ongoing ROM updates and an active community.
