The Design: Master System Clear Black
The Master System Clear Black look combines the iconic color scheme of the Sega Master System with a transparent black ABS shell. The front features a UV-printed Master System design – a perfect tribute for anyone who appreciates the deep connection between the Game Gear and its big brother the Master System. (The Game Gear shares its hardware DNA with the Master System and can even play its games via an adapter.) The result is a stunning conversation piece and a true nod to Sega's retro legacy.
Material & Build Quality
The shell is made from Japanese ABS plastic, moulded by an experienced factory that has been in the gaming industry since the console's own era. Tolerances and feel are top-notch. Note on screws: The screw posts are not pre-threaded – the included self-threading screws will cut their own threads on first assembly. Take care not to over-tighten to avoid cracking. It's recommended to pre-thread all posts carefully before the final assembly.
IPS Display Ready
The shell is already pre-cut for IPS displays – no additional trimming required. The original LCD will also still work just fine. The battery compartment has no internal dividers, making it compatible with standard batteries as well as popular battery mods (e.g. Li-Ion packs).
