The 8BitDo Ultimate 3E is a highly customisable premium controller for Xbox and Windows. Interchangeable ABXY button modules, two D-pads and a selection of joystick caps let you tailor the feel.

Interchangeable control parts

Includes silicone and micro-switch ABXY modules, a conventional and a circular D-pad, and several joystick caps in different shapes and heights.

Precision hardware

TMR joysticks with 12-bit sampling, two-stop Hall impulse triggers, extra L4/R4 bumpers, two rear paddles and RGB Fire Rings around the sticks.

Connections and compatibility

Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and Windows connect over 2.4 GHz or USB. Bluetooth connects compatible Android and Apple devices, including supported Mac models. Six-axis motion control and up to 1000 Hz polling are PC-only.

Battery and accessories

Includes wireless charging dock, 2.4 GHz adapter, travel case, USB cable and replacement accessory set. The 1400 mAh battery lasts up to 18 hours; charging takes roughly 4 to 5 hours.

Input modes: XInput and DirectInput

An independent hands-on review confirms XInput on Windows over 2.4 GHz and DirectInput over Bluetooth, including separate access to additional buttons. The exact input protocol over USB has not been independently confirmed. Switching the 2.4 GHz receiver to DirectInput is not documented.
