FightBox R10-Twin – The Real Twin-Stick Controller for Robotron Fans & Arcade Purists

Robotron: 2084, Smash TV, Geometry Wars – twin-stick shooters demand real twin sticks. No analog stick compromise, no gamepad fumbling. The FightBox R10-Twin puts two full-sized arcade joysticks on a solid metal case – just like it was at the arcade. You can choose between two versions on the product page: the Japanese Sanwa version and the American HAPP version.

Two Versions – One Concept

The Japanese Sanwa version features Sanwa joysticks with precise, short throw and buttery-smooth feel – the global standard for fighting game tournaments, and equally great for shooter precision. Buttons are by BAOLIAN – Sanwa-like in feel but slightly stiffer with a longer travel distance, and easily swappable for genuine Sanwas.

The American HAPP version plays very differently: the bat-top joysticks have heavy spring tension and a long throw – exactly what defined US arcade cabinets of the 80s. If you ever played Robotron on a real American cabinet, you know this feeling. The HAPP buttons are concave and feel about 50% heavier than Sanwa buttons. For 4-way games like Donkey Kong or Zoo Keeper, the HAPP sticks actually outperform a Japanese stick with a square gate. Both sticks and buttons use the Cherry D44X microswitch (75 g) – extremely durable, rated for millions of cycles.

The Controller Board: GP2040-CE – Zero Delay, Maximum Compatibility

Inside runs the FightBox GP2040-CE Advanced Breakout Board – based on the Raspberry Pi Pico with GP2040-CE community firmware. That means virtually zero input lag, open firmware you can customize yourself, and broad platform compatibility. Connection is via USB-B cable (approx. 3 m), compatible with PC, PS3, PS4, and Nintendo Switch.

Buttons & Layout

The main panel features four precision action buttons, plus two side buttons – ideal for pinball functions or assignable for special functions. Coin-insert and start buttons complete the classic arcade cabinet feel. In short: the layout is optimized for twin-stick shooters and works great for pinball emulators too.

Build Quality & Construction

The housing consists of a robust metal case with a transparent acrylic panel (35 × 21 cm, 6 cm height). Weighing approx. 2.1 kg with rubber feet on the bottom, the controller stays rock-solid on your desk even during the most intense sessions. USB-B port is at the rear. Package includes: controller + detachable USB-B cable.
