SVS TOSLINK Input Module – Digital Audio Upgrade for Your Scalable Video Switch
Already rocking one or more input modules on your Scalable Video Switch and want to add optical digital audio to the mix? That's exactly what the TOSLINK Input Module is for. Important: This is not a standalone SVS module – it plugs directly onto the rear of an existing SVS input module PCB and extends it with a TOSLINK input port.
What does it do?
The TOSLINK Input Module adds an optical digital audio input to any of your SVS input modules (SCART, Component, VGA, Composite/S-Video). Consoles with a TOSLINK output – such as PlayStation 2, Xbox, GameCube, Dreamcast or Saturn – can then deliver their audio losslessly via optical fiber straight into the SVS. The switch handles audio switching fully automatically alongside the video signal as soon as you power on a console.
Automatic switching included
No manual switching needed: once the SVS detects the active input via sync signal detection, the corresponding TOSLINK audio signal is automatically routed through as well. Just turn on your console – the SVS does the rest.
Compatibility note
The TOSLINK Input Module only works in combination with an SVS input module. It is not a standalone device and requires an existing Scalable Video Switch input module PCB as a carrier. Also note: to output the audio signal optically at the other end, you will also need an SVS TOSLINK Output Module on your output module. TOSLINK output is only possible when a TOSLINK Input Module is installed on the input side.
