About Cuthbert & Microdeal

Cuthbert is the iconic mascot of British game developer and publisher Microdeal – one of the defining names of the early home computing era. The original Cuthbert games were programmed by Steve Bak and first released in 1982/1983 for the Dragon 32 and TRS-80 Color Computer, later also for Atari 8-bit and Commodore 64. Titles such as Cuthbert Goes Digging, Cuthbert Goes Walkabout, Cuthbert in the Mines, Cuthbert in the Jungle and Cuthbert in Space shaped an entire generation of gamers, drawing inspiration from the finest arcade titles of their time.
