92 digital pages of new homebrew games, reviews and retro gaming stories
The tenth issue of BrewOtaku magazine is here, once again demonstrating just how active and creative the homebrew scene for classic computers and consoles continues to be. Across 92 digitally presented A4 pages, you will find new releases, detailed reviews, interviews and fascinating background stories from the world of independent retro game development. Only five pages of the entire magazine contain advertising, leaving the rest packed with editorial content.
The impressive range of featured platforms stretches from the Atari 2600, ZX Spectrum and Commodore 64 to the Game Boy, Mega Drive, Dreamcast, SNES and Nintendo 64. The entire magazine is written in English and is aimed at everyone who not only enjoys playing new games on classic systems, but also wants to learn more about the people and stories behind them.
24 pages of news featuring more than 140 new homebrew titles
Across 24 packed pages, BrewOtaku’s extensive News Corner presents more than 140 newly released or announced homebrew games. Alongside a huge selection of new Game Boy, Atari and ZX Spectrum titles, you will also discover current projects for the Commodore 64, Amiga, NES, SNES, Mega Drive, Dreamcast, MSX, Jaguar, DOS and many other systems.
Featured titles include Alice Sisters for Dreamcast, Hobo Albo’s Halloween Adventure for NES, Angelsong for SNES, AmiDuke for Amiga AGA, P-47 II for Mega Drive and a huge number of new Game Boy and Game Boy Color releases. With such an enormous variety of games, Issue 10 once again offers plenty of projects that even dedicated homebrew fans may not have encountered before.

Pyrite64, LSD, Ikari Warriors and the story of ZSNES
The feature articles in this issue go far beyond ordinary game presentations. One article takes a closer look at Pyrite64, an engine and editor designed for developing Nintendo 64 games under Windows and Linux. Another explores the unusual PlayStation cult title LSD: Dream Emulator.
BrewOtaku also examines the Ikari Warriors series on the NES. The story section is completed by an article explaining how the ZSNES emulator made history and helped change the way classic SNES games could be experienced on modern computers.
Interview with Nico Barbat and Steffen Häuser
This issue’s major interview features Nico Barbat and Steffen Häuser. They discuss their work, their experiences within the homebrew scene and the challenges involved in developing and publishing new games for classic platforms. The interview once again provides personal insights directly from the people who continue to supply decades-old systems with brand-new games.
