The tenth issue of BrewOtaku magazine is here, once again demonstrating just how active and creative the homebrew scene for classic computers and consoles continues to be. The entire magazine is written in English and is aimed at everyone who not only enjoys playing new games on classic systems, but also wants to learn more about the people and stories behind them.

Pyrite64, LSD, Ikari Warriors and the story of ZSNES

The feature articles in this issue go far beyond ordinary game presentations. One article takes a closer look at Pyrite64, an engine and editor designed for developing Nintendo 64 games under Windows and Linux. Another explores the unusual PlayStation cult title LSD: Dream Emulator.

BrewOtaku also examines the Ikari Warriors series on the NES. The story section is completed by an article explaining how the ZSNES emulator made history and helped change the way classic SNES games could be experienced on modern computers.

Interview with Nico Barbat and Steffen Häuser

This issue’s major interview features Nico Barbat and Steffen Häuser. They discuss their work, their experiences within the homebrew scene and the challenges involved in developing and publishing new games for classic platforms. The interview once again provides personal insights directly from the people who continue to supply decades-old systems with brand-new games.
