RetroSix CleanScreen Kit (IPS) – The Display Upgrade for Your Atari Lynx 1

The original screen of the Atari Lynx 1 is one of its biggest weak points: dim, low contrast, power hungry – and it only gets more unreliable with age. Pixel failures, dead zones and streaks are all too common on the classic panel. The RetroSix CleanScreen Kit puts a permanent end to that.

What Makes It Special?

RetroSix engineered a modern IPS screen driver board specifically tuned to the variable frame rates of the Atari Lynx (59–61 Hz and 74–76 Hz) – without any screen flicker or frame fading. The colour profiles are custom-calibrated so games look the way they were meant to: vivid, sharp and true to colour. The matt black bezel design matches the Lynx 1's aesthetic perfectly and requires no ugly tape to hide raw edges.

Important Notes Before You Buy

This version is designed exclusively for the Atari Lynx 1 and is not compatible with the Lynx 2. Basic soldering skills and a steady hand are essential. If you're not confident doing this yourself, consider an installation service. Always test the kit before permanently mounting the screen with the included double-sided foam tape – safe removal afterwards is not possible.
