The GameBoy Advance SP is a cool little handheld, but what's a bit annoying is that Nintendo was using a custom connector for the power supply which basically no other device uses.
This small mod fixes that: It replaces the custom power socket with a standard USBC Connector. This allows you to use and USB or USB-PD compatible power supply to charge the GBA SP.
However, you will lose the audio headphones output (so audio will only work with the speaker).
Included in the kit is a fitting spacer (please choose the color you need).
If you want a different color, you can print one yourself. The files are available here: https://www.printables.com/@robot_retro_312529
We do offer an mod that supports USB-Audio on the USB-C Port as well, but that one doesn't support USB-PD power supplies, only standard USB-Power supplies.
So choose the one you prefer.
Installation Guide:
Please note:
To install the mod, you need to open your GBA SP, desolder the old port and solder in the new one.
This is not a very hard job, but you should have some basic soldering experience. If you don't want to do it yourself, we also offer an installation service. Please note that we cannot take any warranty for damaged GBA SP due to improper installations.
