This isn't just another cable—it's a complete video solution. The dongle features an internal active amplifier and signal conditioner that ensures your video output meets professional 75Ω standards. This means cleaner signals, sharper images, and colors that pop exactly as the developers intended. Each signal benefits from individual shielding, plus there's a global shield for maximum interference rejection.

How It Works

The dongle connects directly to your Mega Drive 2 console and converts the proprietary video output to the HD15 (VGA-style) format. From there, you'll need an HD15 cable—whether that's HD15 to VGA, HD15 to SCART, or HD15 to BNC—to connect to your display device. This modular approach gives you maximum flexibility for your setup, whether you're using a RetroTink-4K scaler, an RGB monitor, or a professional video processor.

Audio hasn't been forgotten either. The dongle includes stereo audio output on a standard 3.5mm jack with its own separate shielding to keep your sound as clean as your picture.

Important Compatibility Notes

This dongle passes through the native video signal from your console without upscaling or modifying the sync timing. That means you'll need to connect it to devices that support the original 240p/288p video timings of the Mega Drive 2—such as CRT TVs, scalers like the RetroTink-4K, or specialized RGB monitors. Standard VGA computer monitors typically won't work as they don't support these vintage video timings. If you've modified your console, please consult with your modder about compatibility, as RetroTink cannot guarantee functionality with modified systems.
