Scalable Switch – flexible video solutions for large retro setups
Scalable Switch is the manufacturer behind the Scalable Video Switch (SVS), a modular and expandable analog video switch designed for retro consoles, CRTs, modern video scalers and larger gaming setups. Instead of locking you into a fixed number of ports or a single video standard, the system can be configured from individual modules to match your particular setup.
At the heart of every system is the SVS Control Module. Input and output modules can then be added for SCART, Component Video (YPbPr), VGA, Composite and S-Video. A base configuration can handle up to 32 inputs and six outputs. Optional Toslink audio and RGB/YPbPr transcoder modules add even more flexibility.
One of the most useful features for larger console collections is automatic input switching using sync detection. Power on a connected console and the SVS can automatically detect the active source and switch to it.
Designed for modern retro gaming setups
The Scalable Video Switch is particularly useful for setups where many classic consoles need to share a CRT, video scaler or modern display. Thanks to its modular construction, a small SVS setup can later be expanded with additional inputs, outputs and optional functionality.
Integration with modern video scalers has also been built into the system. The RetroTINK-4K can be directly integrated with a suitable SVS configuration, while devices such as the RetroTINK-5X, OSSC and OSSC Pro can be controlled through the IR blaster functionality. This allows the system not only to select the correct console, but also to automate tasks such as loading the appropriate scaler profile.
Scalable Switch combines classic analog video technology with a flexible, automated and genuinely expandable switching system – ideal for retro gaming setups that have grown well beyond the number of consoles anyone originally intended to connect.
