Buck and the Cursed Cartridge was developed from scratch by Play Instinct together with ModRetro, built natively for original GBC hardware. Not a port, not a style imitation – a real physical cartridge you slot into your Chromatic or original Game Boy Color and play.

The Story

Buck is a die-hard retro gamer. When he picks up a mysterious cartridge labeled "DEFINITELY NOT A CURSED CARTRIDGE" at his local GameStop, nothing could prepare him for what happens next. The moment he pops it into his Chromatic, he's sucked through the screen and trapped inside the game. To escape, he must battle through pixelated worlds, outsmart glitchy bosses, and uncover who – or what – is pulling the strings. With help from a rogue hacker, hidden cheats, and his trusty blaster, Buck's only way out is to beat the game itself.
